Plagge, 88, of Sheffield, died Wednesday (May 10, 1989) at the Americana Healthcare Center, Mason City, of natural causes. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Latimer, with the Rev. Donald E. Ellerman officiating. Burial will be in Marion Center Cemetery, Latimer. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today at Grarup Funeral Home, Sheffield. He was born Aug. 14 1900, in Latimer, the son of Henry and Wilhelmina (Dohrman) Plagge. He attended rural schools near Latimer. After finishing his schooling, he began farming with his father. He married Freida Reineking on Jan. 10, 1924, in Marion Center. They made their home and farmed near Latimer. She died in 1958. On May 31, 1961, He married Grace Pfaltzgradd at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. Mr. Plagge had been a resident of the Americana Healthcare Center for the past three years. He was a lifetime member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Latimer. Survivors include his wife, Grace, Mason City; one daughter, Elvera Logan, Mason City; four sons Merlin and Dallas, both of Sheffield; Dean, Latimer, and Maynard, Hampton; 26 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. He was predeceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one son, five brothers and five sisters. |
