Edmond B Smith

Edmond B. Smith, 84, of Cambridge, Zanesville native and a starting judge for horse racing at area fairs, dies at 7:02 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 27) in Guernsey Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for one month.

Mr. Smith was a retired employe(sic) of the Armour Co. He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd degree mason in the Valley of Cambridge. Mr. Smith was a member of the Amaranth Lodge in Zanesville and a 50-year member of the United Commercial Travelers. He was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church.

Born Dec. 28 1885, he was a son of William H. and Mary Brown Smith.

His wife Kathryn Smith, died May 24, 1965.

Surviving are one sone, Edmond B, Smith Jr., of Apple Creek and one daughter, Mrs. Kathryn J. Zeck of Hollywood, Fla.

Foursisters, one brother and one half-brother preceded him in death.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in Scott Funeral Home in Cambridge.

Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednes in the funeral home. Rev. Stanley Shoemaker will officiate and burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park.
